A national webinar on the subject of Commercial Courts Act, 2015 is organized at the ICFAI Law School of ICFAI University Dehradun. With the increase of economic activities in the country, there has also been an increase in economic disputes. Commercial courts have been set up across the country for speedy disposal of such cases. A webinar was organized to discuss various aspects of the Commercial Courts Act, in which Mr. Nitin Kumar Gupta, an eminent Advocate of the Supreme Court was invited as a keynote speaker.
Mr. Gupta, while giving his views on the various nuances of this law, said that the Commercial Court Act provides for a resolution through mediation before the filing of any case. As a result, 62 percent of economic disputes only in Delhi were resolved outside the court. He said that due to the effect of this law, there will be a rapid reduction in pending cases across the country.
In connection with this national e-seminar, Chancellor of ICFAI UNIVERSITY DEHRADUN, Mr. Muddu Vinay said that such e-seminars provide in-depth knowledge of legal issues to students and common citizens living in different areas of the country. Thousands of students and professionals participated in this e-seminar, including Registrar Brigadier Rajeev Shetty of ICFAI University, Dean Prof. Dr. Yugal Kishore, Monika Kharola, Partha Upadhyay and Monika Kothiyal. It may be noted that ICFAI University Dehradun has been conducting various national and international webinars through digital platforms even during lock down. Recently, ICFAI University Dehradun has got 44th ranking at International level.
The ranking is given to ICFAI based on a ranking survey conducted by the United Nation Institute for Training and Research. Additionally, Venkat Sai, a law student from ICFAI University Dehradun recently, has secured 11th rank at All India Level in Clat LLM which has proved to be a high standard of education at ICFAI University Dehradun.
